BNB menstrual panties are sewn of soft natural cotton. The fabric for the gusset (protective insert) consists of two layers: a cotton layer of terry and a protective moisture-proof membrane. The terry layer absorbs liquid and the moisture barrier holds it. Thus, the discharge remains in the middle of the panties. The cotton absorbs it and the skin breathes freely. The gusset (protective insert) in the panties protects from the back to the waist.
BNB menstrual protective panties can be worn with a menstrual cup, tampon or pad. They will help to keep clothes and bedding clean, you can remain calm and self-confident in any situation. You can use these panties while on treatment with vaginal suppositories, when you have urinary incontinence or other leaking. Leakproof Period Underwear FAQs
How long can I wear period underwear for?
As long as your flow allows. Some people can wear it all day, while others only use it as a backup for a cup or tampon. We recommend that you use them for 8-12 hours. They can also be used for spotting or discharge overnight. The underwear itself is long-lasting.
How many pairs do I need?
We advise that you have 3–4 pairs on hand so that you can switch into a new pair after 8–12 hours of wear.
How will I know they are full?
You can tell by observing the gusset’s seams. If you see blood at the seams or if the underwear feels wet, this is an indication that you should change them soon. You’ll quickly develop an understanding of your flow and how long you can go without leaking once you start using them.
Do I need to wear a pad or tampon with leakproof underwear?
You can wear our period underwear on their own or as backup protection in conjunction with a menstrual cup or tampon, depending on the level of absorbency of period underwear you select and the intensity of your flow.
Can I put them on Dryer?
Never put them in the dryer! This will ruin their absorbing fabric and will no longer work. If you wash them by hand, just let them air dry overnight.
How to know which panty to choose?
You can choose the style you are most comfortable with when using your regular underwear. BNB panties have a light absorbency while Modibodi and Rocking Undies offers different absorbency levels. You can choose between light, moderate or heavy/overnight absorbency. As a rule of thumb the more there are layers, that is the more costly the panties are, the more they absorb. Panties that are meant to be used overnight have a leakproof part that extends up to the waist.
What size am I?
We always recommend following the producers size chart, measuring your hip from the widest part around your hip-bones (not waist) and when in doubt, taking your normal underwear size.
Do I need to wash them before wear?
Yes, we recommend putting them through the wash before the first time you wear them to help to activate the technology in the gusset.
What should I do when my panties don´t smell nice after a wash?
Don´t throw your panties away when after using them for a while they start to smell a little weird. They just need a proper cleaning. There is a cost-effective way to refresh your period panties! Yes, just like you would do with your towel that starts to “get tired” – leave it to soak overnight in vinegar! Mix 30% vinegar with tap water, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil and leave your panties to soak. After that throw them in the washing machine for a full cycle with the rest of your clothes. When taking them out – they feel soft, nice smelling and ready to go on and on.
